Father’s Day Gift Guide

Even though you may be like me and hate to buy a gift that will end up at the farm OR is a gift that you already purchased once and has now found a home at the farm and not at your house…. that may be the easy route for a gift. It’s clearly an item that’s needed and used, for instance pressure washers, drills, shovels….. you get the point. However, here are some other ideas for your Father’s Day shopping.

A Tractor Kit – snacks, a good water bottle, headphones, itunes gift card, download podcasts or books to his phone, a picture of your family to hang up in it

A Fishing Kit – buy his license, get his fishing pole out of the back corner of the shed, buy some worms and maybe new fishing line because if it’s been a while that made need to be replaced. Pack a picnic and actually take some time to go fishing.

Grilling Kit – heavy duty flipper, grill pieces … order these off of Amazon or your local hardware store because if your grill looks like ours, it may need a little TLC, a meat thermometer and finish off the basket with Penzey’s Spices.

Hunting Kit – leash, collars, engraved tags for the collars, a battery pack for the GPS, a pack of toilet paper (because you never know when this will come in handy), snacks, couple bottles of water and a hunting magazine. If your dad bear hunts like mine, dog food is always appreciated too.

Now if you’re looking beyond ideas and want actual gifts to buy, I’ve gathered some items I’ve actually bought and know are well loved.

Duluth Trading DuluthFlex Fire Hose Carpenter pants – found here. These are tried and true by my husband and farmer, Noah. The words from his mouth were, ‘”These may be the best pants ever.”

Duluth Trading Men’s Flapjack Fleece-lined Shirt Jac – found here.

CreekKooler Outdoor Insulated Floating Cooler – found here.

Camo Crocs – need I say more? Find them here.

If the standard Crocs weren’t quite catching your eye maybe the adventure Crocs will. Find them here.

Now something a little more on the silly side, are these custom socks. I’m really tempted to get these with our dog’s face on them since it will be the last Father’s Day where he gets to be the only pride and joy. Find them here.

Beats Wireless Headphones – find them here.

These headphones are also tried and true. The one downside is that because they are blue-tooth it does suck your battery down, but they work fantastic. You can answer calls on them too, so if you’re out in the barn or in a tractor you can easily pick-up and talk.

In Noah’s case I know he absolutely loves homemade, authentic Mexican food. I mean real guac, salsa, tacos on corn two corn tortillas topped with onions and parsley, finished off with tres leches cake. Keep this in mind for your husbands as well. What food do these ABSOLUTELY go crazy for?

Or if something more personalized and cute is your thing check out Etsy.com. You can find anything from cuff links to spoons on there.
