Special Ingredient Fruit Pizza

My fruit pizza isn’t like others. The special ingredient is what makes this taste better than others.

Take one guess as to what it is… ok, let me tell you. It’s ALMOND extract in the cream cheese frosting.

Use whatever fruit that fits your fancy. Sometimes I add bananas, as in this case, sometimes not. Don’t be stingy either!

Because of the 11×17 pan it is great for a crowd. I just made it for our New Year’s Eve party.

There is no special sauce you have to make, which saves on time. Let the sweetness of the fruit, cream cheese frosting and sugar cookie speak for itself.

Special Ingredient Fruit Pizza

This fruit pizza, made with my special ingredient, makes it about the best ever. It’s also made for a crowd in an 11×17 pan. Be sure to cut the bars before adding the fruit.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1.5 tubes prepackaged cookie dough

Frosting

  • 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

Topping

  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Kiwis
  • Strawberries
  • Mandarin Oranges (prepackaged in a jar)

Instructions

Crust

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a greased 11×17 cookie pan, press cookie dough to a thin layer, but not too thin. It should take 1.5 tubes of the prepackaged sugar cookie dough. Bake for 12 – 16 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool.

Frosting

  • Mix together softened cream cheese, sugar, almond extract and vanilla extract. Make sure the sugar is well blended in. When crust is cool, spread on frosting.

Fruit Topping

  • Cut into squares before adding fruit. Add as much fruit to each piece as you’d like. Chill until serving.

Love this, Celsey! I use almond in my sugar cookies/frosting as well. I can’t wait to try out this fruit pizza. Your veggie pizza is BOMB, too!!

    • Yes you can, but the crust may be thicker, therefore baking time will need to be adjusted. I’m thinking the crust would need to be baked just a few minutes longer.
